Over 10,000 students take to Ireland’s streets against fees

Up-to 15,000 students have taken to the streets to protest against the possible reintroduction of third-level fees in Ireland. They marched through Dublin from Parnell Square to a rally outside Leinster House. This follows hot on the heels of a similar sized demonstration of Irish pensioners protesting over budget cutbacks. And all of this while our own National Union of Students is refusing even to question the idea of fees, let alone beginning to organise resistance to them.

There is an excellent photo report of the demo at Indymedia Ireland here: http://www.indymedia.ie/article/89615
