Photo report of Manchester freshers

Members of Communist Students backed up by supporters of the ‘Hands Off the People of Iran’ campaign ran stalls and meetings throughout the week. This is a quick photo report that will be followed up by a national report over the next week.

Manchester CS members staffed two stalls for three days as well as doing shifts on the HOPI stall. Just under 170 students signed up to the CS society at UMSU during that time.

Over forty people attended the first HOPI meeting of the year, where CS members helped HOPI activists put on a showing of the film Persepolis. Peter Grant from the train drivers union ASLEF spoke before the film showing on why his union supports HOPI. Ste Monaghan from the Anarchist Federation and founding member of Manchester HOPI also gave a brief introduction to HOPI.
